What Bellgap keeps
- Boards. A board holds what you type on it: an optional board name, adult names you choose, leave days, colours, dates, the kind of each day, short day labels, who covers each day and paid-care prices. It is stored as one encrypted document, sealed with a key made from your private link and a server key. The database keeps only a fingerprint (SHA-256) of the link, so Bellgap cannot find a board for you or read one without its link.
- Nothing about children. There is no field for a child's name, age, grade, school or class. Please do not type them into labels.
- Counters against abuse. To limit how many boards and changes one address can make, Bellgap keeps daily counters keyed by a salted hash of your IP address (not the address itself). They are deleted after 3 days.
- Server logs. Like any website, the web server records requests (address, time, page, browser) in its access logs; WeldonPC uses them to keep the server running and secure. Board links are part of the page address, so they can appear there.
- Backups. The database is backed up nightly (sealed boards included) and copies roll off after 14 days. WeldonPC also backs up the whole server.
What Bellgap does not do
- No account, no email address, no phone number, no cookies except the one that protects forms (a security token that expires after 24 hours).
- No analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels. Every file comes from this site; nothing loads from other websites.
- The Gap Count saves nothing.
Deleting
Delete a board from its Settings page; it is gone at once, and its last backup copies roll off within 14 days. A board nobody opens for about 18 months is deleted automatically.
